Great food, and staff, big mention to Adrian and John both of whom were very helpful and attentive. All meals were beautifully presented and great quality. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful food . Great service in a lovely setting

Lovely pub with amazing views. Had a wonderful dinner last night and was impressed by the varied menu and size of the generous portions. The food was delicious and the service was warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Lucky find!

As soon as we entered there was a definite unwelcome vibe. We saw the staff just chatting amongst themselves and didn’t give us any notice so we asked do we just sit anywhere or do they seat us. They dismissed us and gestured anywhere. No menus were brought and had to go and ask for them. Table service was okay but unfriendly and again very much felt unwelcoming.   Food was nice but had obviously been left to go cold. We hadn’t had breakfast so we were hungry and ate it. Was nice food, just cold and felt if we mentioned it we’d have an even longer wait and you always worry they’ll take it out on your food.   All in all service was slow and unwelcoming but food was good albeit cold. Shame.

Baxter had a great time being made welcome and getting loads of attention. We had great meals the staff were always friendly and went out their way to make our stay special. Jon and Michelle went the extra mile. We will certainly return.

My friend &amp; I walk at Longshaw quite regularly &amp; always finish with a meal at The Fox House. Good quality food in a pleasant atmosphere &amp; friendly waiting on staff.Thank you

We had a late lunch today at The Fox House - drawn back by the 50% discount off mains this week. Disabled parking conveniently just beside the main entrance. We shared the garlic prawn starter - prawns were ok, nicely prepared and shelled, but not much garlic or other flavour.My wife enjoyed her Foresti&egrave;re Chicken, and I had the Fillet Steak - cooked just right, but not quite as tender as I&#39;d have hoped for a fillet.Everyone was friendly &amp; helpful, but service was quite slow. Just as well we were not in a hurry!Nice place!

Fantastic food,  value for money with a great friendly team of staff 10/10 highly recommended.

Food wasn&rsquo;t very pleasant had the 3 meat Sunday roast and the only nice part was the stuffing both pork and turkey was dry and the beef was worryingly pink and very fatty. The gravy though was absolutely vile tasted like burnt meat oil.

A very cosy place to have lunch on a cold and windy day!

Busy Friday evening with quite a long queue for the carvery and some of the vegetables needing to be replenished. Service was a bit slow but it was busy. The food station was quite messy, which was a shame as it did look a bit unappetising. However, the food tasted fine, and it is excellent value so would return again.
